Warriors of the Light: Strength, Vitality and Art workshops offer a lively introduction to balancing our physical, mental, spiritual and emotional elements.

1. increase physical strength through sword and shield practice
2. increase mental and spiritual vitality by quieting the mind through meditation
3. increase emotional expression through hands on art

Warriors of the Light will be offering 3 separate workshops, each based around a specified warrior-centric topic of the day.

The first portion of each workshop starts outdoors amongst the beauty of the Rideau Forest, with a one-hour Sword & Shield Combat class lead by WOTL Founder/Shieldmaiden Beth Sturdevant and WOTL Assistant Director/Kickboxing Instructor Shanna Beauvais Germain, where participants are taught to wield and mobilize Viking-era steel swords & full size shields, interspersed with combat kickboxing exercises and Viking-inspired obstacle course training.

Following the physical component of the workshop, everyone will gather inside the Misiwe Ni Relations Lodge, where they will be guided through mindfulness activities and grounding meditations with WOTL Founder/Healer Beth Sturdevant, aimed at helping each person enhance their warrior-like mental and spiritual strength and vitality.

The final portion of each workshop will end with 2 hours of expressive art with Fine Artist Mahshid Farhoudi who will help each person channel their emotions through art by creating a visual representation of their energies and natures as warrior. Using colour theory, drawing techniques, or automatic drawing (a process for allowing free movement of the artists medium, while in a meditative or altered state of consciousness), participants will be able to manipulate various art mediums (acrylic paints, pastels, charcoals, ink etc) to create their own piece of take-away art representative of their true warrior spirit and the specific topic of the day.
**To help enhance everyone's experiences in expressing themselves freely from a state of deeper subconscious creativity, WOTL Founder/Healer/Cellist Beth Sturdevant, will accompany the expressive art portion of each workshop with the healing frequencies and luscious sounds of her cello.**

Upon completion each person receives a custom-designed, locally made, WOTL Sword Pendant.
