In this 2-hour workshop we’ll combine the soothing effects of Restorative Yoga with calming hands-on assists based on Thai Massage techniques. We’ll close this restful class with a 20-minute Yoga Nidra session, leaving you renewed on every level: mind, body and spirit.
Restorative yoga is a passive practice that uses props to bolster the body. By using props to build the necessary framework to fully support the body we create the support it needs to soften and relax into every shape. The calming effects of your restorative practice will be enhanced with hands-on assists based on Thai yoga massage techniques. Thai massage uses gentle shaking and pressing motions to release tension and stimulate the Sen lines (Energy channels similar to Nadis, in the yogic tradition, or Meridians in Chinese Medicine.) These techniques will gently ease the body deeper into poses while releasing muscle tension. The practice will close with a 20-minute guided meditation called Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep). This meditation will relax the body physically, mentally and emotionally to induce a profound sense of calm.
