An iconic musician across Canada and around the world, Cochrane started out playing the coffeehouses of Toronto's famed Yorkville scene in the early '70s as a folk-based singer-songwriter. He soon became the driving force of the adventurous rockers Red Rider and went on to achieve massive international success with the breakthrough 1991 album Mad Mad World and its Canadian anthem “Life Is A Highway”. Cochrane has sold over 6 million recordings worldwide over the course of his long and illustrious career, now spanning more than 40 years.
The pride of Lynn Lake, Manitoba, Tom Cochrane has cemented his place in the hearts of Canadians through passionate, crowd-pleasing performances from coast to coast, and his unwavering work on behalf of humanitarian causes and organizations. An Officer of the Order of Canada and Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee, Cochrane has won eight Junos and numerous other industry honours.
