Head For West Records Showcase: Vol. 4
We've got a HUGE show during a HUGE week in the Capital! Join us at LIVE! on Elgin and kick off your Grey Cup celebrations with a night of awesome music! Here's the starting lineup:
James Blonde (Toronto)
Who is James Blonde? The answer is not a person, but the singular identity of an Alt-Rock/Pop trio comprised of Neil Carson, Phil Taylor and Steph Mercier. The new identity came to be in late 2016 when the trio, (formerly known as Xprime) finished recording their first LP. The music was new, exciting and more defined. Through the previous years’ heavy touring and time spent together writing, the band became like an individual; a being that is more than just the sum of its parts. The trio then decided to find a name suitable for the new defined identity they shared: James Blonde.
Mosely is an Indie/Alt-Rock band from Ottawa. With influences from Foo Fighters to Of Monsters and Men, Mosely has developed a layered and dynamic sound. From sweet, soft whispers to roaring harmonic choruses, their live shows are full of ranging emotions. June 2015 saw the release of their self-titled EP, recorded with Producer Steve Foley at Audio Valley Recording Studio.
Galapagos play gritty indie songs with Capital City strut and Midwest mosey, that will take you to a place that you haven’t been, yet already know. Ottawa Showbox calls their debut EP «classic emo with an indie and garage flare connecting to the current day». This your last chance to see them live in 2017 before the release of their second EP in late January 2018.
Fathom the Sea (Ottawa)
Fathom the Sea is an Ottawa based folk duo. Their first recording, The Resolution EP, explores endings from many different perspectives including Space Exploration, Heartbreak and Car Repair. Fathom the Sea's influences include the likes of Hayden, Milk Carton Kids, John K. Samson and Old-Time Folk music.
