Maxximum K9 presents the winter installment of Play your way to powerful obedience. Being held consecutive Wednesdays at the Dog Dayz location at 95 Abbeyhill in Kanata for 6 weeks.

What is playing your way to powerful obedience? It is using marker training by using play to get our dogs working in drive with focused energy by tapping into our dogs already present genetic traits to give the bahaviours we desire. Open to all ages, breeds and handlers but to get the most out of the workshops you and your dog should have passed a 2nd level of puppy school or an intermediate or better level of obedience as an adult.

We will start off by applying information from the handler and dog to address the needs of the individual teams training goals.

Workshops will be for 1.5 hour and will start at 19:00 with setting of each of the team member's goals: Followed by individual handler/dog practical work.

We will be working towards getting ring-ready obedience by accessing the genetic behaviors that are already present in our dogs.

Creating a plan to change our own interactions with our dogs over the long term so they will want to work with you without conflict.

Not just fix and change problem behaviors, but how we relate to our dogs in the context of the behaviors we want to change.

Improve our own performances as a dog trainer by stripping our training all the way back down to how we play with our dogs.

Learn to better use food, ball and tug rewards for increasing motivation and building control without having to resort to adversives.

Learn how to tug properly and safely with your dog with a variety of reward toys.

Build obedience around common distractions, including tips for sport handlers preparing for competition.

Price is $200 limited to 6 participants the workshop series is held at the Kanata Dog Dayz Location @ 95 Abbeyhill Dr, Kanata, ON.

Starting Date Wednesday January 17th to Wednesday February 21st from 7pm to 8:30pm.
