Life Songs is a feature documentary examining the loss of sacred community and the rise of individualism as it directly relates to the creation and consumption of song in our culture. We are culture far removed from it’s own song, having forgotten how to use our voices to tell our own story. Life Songs is a film that witnesses a group of 8 people learning to create songs out of the stuff of life.

Barclay McMillan has been creating opportunities for people to discover, or recover, their singing voices and explore them in a context of healing and well-being since 1991. He offers courses and singing gatherings in Ottawa that facilitate voice emergence.

Craig Conoley is an artist, arts educator and founding partner at Dan Rascal. His background in documentary filmmaking continues to shape his approach to branded content, his clients and their messaging. His documentary work has screened on CBC and TVO. Life Songs is his first feature.

Tickets: $15
NOTE: Those whose Indiegogo contribution earned free admission as a perk are exempt. Box Office proceeds go to the LifeSong scholarship fund.

Barclay McMillan and Chris MacLean will be there to introduce the film.
