This Easter weekend, come celebrate spring’s arrival at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum! After a long winter, the barns have come alive with the arrival of newborn animals. Welcome the soft, little lambs, marvel at the rabbits’ silky fur, and observe the fluffy, newly-hatched chicks and ducklings. Visitors can learn about the transformation of cacao beans into chocolate while helping make chocolate cake – and taste a delicious sample!
Change to Admission Fees: March 30 to April 2
Please note, parking at the Museum will be free during Easter, in order to minimize lineups in the parking lot. As such, the admission fees for March 30 to April 2 have changed.
Family (6 pers. – max 2 adults): $38
Senior (age 60+) / Student* $12
Youth (ages 3-17): $12
*Students must show valid student identification.
As always, members receive unlimited free admission.

Children’s Obstacle Course
Eggs aren’t just for breakfast anymore…they can be fun and fascinating too! At this station, visitors will discover all kinds of interesting facts about eggs, compare different types of eggs, and examine uniquely-decorated eggs. They will also enjoy observing fascinating “eggs-periments” in action – and learn how we grade eggs with an egg grader.
Meet the Chicks and Ducklings — Ongoing activity
Can a chick or duckling hatch from one of the eggs in your fridge? How long does it take for chicks to hatch? What is a layer? Get the answers to your questions about chickens and ducks – and meet the newly-hatched fluffy chicks and ducklings!
Baking Demonstrations — Ongoing activity
Chocolate Cake: Learn more about the transformation of cacao beans into chocolate, then help make a delicious chocolate dessert that is sure to satisfy your cravings!
Lemon Cake: Enjoy the fresh flavours of spring as we prepare a delicious lemon cake during this demonstration.
Craft Corner: Ongoing activity
Let your creativity flow with an Easter-themed craft!
Face Painting: Ongoing activity, extra fees apply

Meet the Lambs Daily: 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
What would Easter be without soft, gentle lambs? Come meet the museum’s woolly newborns up close at this demonstration.
Meet the Rabbits: Daily: 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m.
Although rabbits are typically looked at as family pets, they are frequently raised on farms for both their fur and meat. Learn interesting details about the rabbit’s life cycle, and explore why this animal has such a close association with Easter. Participants will have a chance to pet one of these special Easter animals.
Springtime Quiz: Ongoing activity
Visitors can spin the wheel and test their knowledge of springtime trivia. Prizes include delicious, chocolate eggs!
Afternoon Milking: Daily: 4 p.m.
The milking of the Museum’s dairy cows takes place twice daily. Over the course of this demonstration, visitors will be impressed by the technologies used in modern dairying as they see the herdspeople milk the entire herd. A Museum guide will be on site to explain the process and to answer questions.
Rabbit Agility: Saturday only: 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 3 p.m.
Cheer on the rabbits as they race through an obstacle course in a demonstration of rabbit agility! Presented by the Renfrew County 4-H Rabbit Racers.
Children’s Obstacle Course Friday, Sunday, and Monday: Ongoing activity
Children will hop like rabbits, climb like goats, and balance like chickens in these obstacle courses. They will be able to choose between the slow-and-steady turtle course and the more challenging rabbit course.
