// Graven
Growing up, once-rapper Nepean white kid Matty ‘Graven’ McKechnie was a massive teen listener of J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.), Stephen Malkmus (Pavement), Bruce Springsteen, Led Zeppelin, Joni Mitchell and old school hip-hop. Having played in suburban garage bands since his mid-teens, he began to adapt and progress with the shifting musical terrain around him while still staying true to his idyllic influences. With his tune Big Lake, Sky Summer voted as a 'Best of 2017' track by Ryan Bresee on CKCU FM, Graven’s songs are truly atmospheric, raw, passionate, personal and rare – and with a wild, rotating and circus-like band of hyper-talented individuals supporting him, his music generates interest and intensity. Having opened for and shared stage space with such artists as Slow Leaves, Megan Nash, Dave Gunning, Tanya Davis, The Wooden Sky, The Good Lovelies, Steve Poltz and Al Tuck, Graven is an active player in a few different collectives, and has toured across Canada on three separate occasions. His last record 'Channelsurfing' featured drum-work from Dave Marsh (Joel Plaskett, The True Love Rules) and engineering from Charles Austin (Superfriendz, Aqua Alta). His latest record Jaybird is receiving bits of acclaim and airplay on CBC, Live 88.5, CKCU, CKDJ, CHUO and a smattering of stations across Canada. Graven recently played at Marvest (part of CityFolk Festival) in Ottawa alongside acts like Matt Mays, Bahamas, Father John Misty and Broken Social Scene.

// Wired To The Sky
Wired To The Sky is the ever-evolving solo project of Canadian songwriter, Dylan Perkons. After relocating from Montreal to the West Coast he began performing new material, frequently collaborating with a rotating cast of Vancouver Island musicians. In late 2016 the band entered the studio to record their debut album, produced by Juno Award-winner Colin Stewart (Dan Mangan, Black Mountain, Yukon Blonde). The upcoming 2017 release, titled Steady Sparrow, Steady Flight finds Perkons' residing comfortably in a post-Americana landscape. Though his dusty baritone remains at the front and center of the album, the dynamic arrangements carry the listener through the songs. The album features contributions from Pat McTaggart, Dave Thompson, Kathryn Calder, Laura Mitic, Marc Jenkins, Nevada Brown, Michael Lewis and Megan McCaffrey. Swaying between colorful indie folk and eerie country-noir, the music compliments the earnest writing woven the songs.
