Since 2014, I celebrate my birthday with a grateful heart for the blessings my family and I have been receiving! I just felt that it is just right to give back and share the blessing, and how fun it is doing it with the passion that I truly love… ZUMBA! This year's Zumbathon event has 2 recipients for a donation of $15.
Same as previous years, I organize this annual event for the «Answering the Cry of the Poor» (ANCOP). It is a duly registered Canadian charity dedicated to uplift the lives of less fortunate families in developing countries living in slum areas through shelter, child education, and humanitarian relief. It aims to restore the poor’s hope and dignity, organizing them into sustainable and self-reliant communities through livelihood assistance, values formation, and community empowerment. Currently, they operate in the Philippines, India, Indonesia and several countries in Africa including Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Uganda. It is primarily supported by donation from individuals, groups, and corporate partners and just like a charity event like this. Last year, the Zumbathon generated enough funds to send 2 children to school for a year, totaling to $875 CAD.
The new recipient for this year is Faith and Mind Ministry (FAMM). It is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to mental health advocacy and to support those living with mental illness and their caregivers. They are a group of like-minded people, interdenominational Christians and people with lived mental health experience working to end the stigma on mental health and create awareness at all levels of society. FAMM is planning to organize a 'free' event for girls and women in November, entitled «Women empowering Women», and they need donations such as this Zumbathon to make it possible.
All donations will be handed over to both organisations — equally splitting them between recipients (50%/50%).
THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUS DONATIONS… let's spread the love :)
